Woman Sues Honda in Small Claims Court For Defective Advertising and Wins

Heather Peters struck a might blow against Honda Motors last week when she won a landmark decision against the automaker in small claims court.  Ms. Peters claimed that Honda made false claims about the gas mileage for her Honda car and that she was damaged by this.  Because the small claims court in California does not allow recoveries above $10,000, Ms. Peters tailored her arguments to show that she had suffered losses of just less than that amount, namely $9,687.
