Fractured heel -- Confidential Settlement
Client was a sub-contractor working on a home being built by a general contractor. The general contractor provided a ramp from the first floor to the basement. The ramp collapsed leading to a fractured heel and several surgeries. The heel remained symptomatic and client had difficulty returning to his prior employment. Miraldi and Barrett argued that the general contractor failed to provide a safe work environment and that temporary stairs should have been used instead of a ramp.
