OHIO STATE BAR ASSOCIATION GIVES JUSTICE MCGEE BROWN ITS HIGHEST RATING

Justice Yvette McGee Brown received the highest rating from The Ohio State Bar Association’s Commission on Judicial Candidates. Justice McGee was appointed by former Governor Ted Strickland to fill the term of Justice Maureen O’ Connor who was elected to the position of Chief Justice. Justice McGee Brown is the only Democrat serving on the Ohio Supreme Court and the first woman, African American to ever serve on Ohio’s highest court.


Justice McGee Brown was rated “highly recommended” by the Ohio State Bar Commission. Her opponent, Judge Sharon Kennedy was rated as “not recommended”. This is the first time a candidate for the Ohio Supreme Court has ever received a “not recommended” rating.  To read the entire report, click here
